This pump jack is in East Texas on County Road 3940. When I first named the painting I thought it
was not in use even though I had taken the photo only a few days earlier. Photos stop all motion.
I called it "Antiquated Pumping Jack". A friend visiting me worked for a company that manufactured
these oil pumps. I was informed that they were pump jacks. This friend thought it was the prettiest
pump jack she had seen.
